Abstract

OBJECTIVE: To examine the relation between IQ in childhood and vegetarianism in adulthood.
DESIGN: Prospective cohort study in which IQ was assessed by tests of mental ability at age 10 years and vegetarianism by self-report at age 30 years.
SETTING: Great Britain.
PARTICIPANTS: 8170 men and women aged 30 years participating in the 1970 British cohort study, a national birth cohort.
MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: Self-reported vegetarianism and type of diet followed.
RESULTS: 366 (4.5%) participants said they were vegetarian, although 123 (33.6%) admitted eating fish or chicken. Vegetarians were more likely to be female, to be of higher social class (both in childhood and currently), and to have attained higher academic or vocational qualifications, although these socioeconomic advantages were not reflected in their income. Higher IQ at age 10 years was associated with an increased likelihood of being vegetarian at age 30 (odds ratio for one standard deviation increase in childhood IQ score 1.38, 95% confidence interval 1.24 to 1.53). IQ remained a statistically significant predictor of being vegetarian as an adult after adjustment for social class (both in childhood and currently), academic or vocational qualifications, and sex (1.20, 1.06 to 1.36). Exclusion of those who said they were vegetarian but ate fish or chicken had little effect on the strength of this association.
CONCLUSION: Higher scores for IQ in childhood are associated with an increased likelihood of being a vegetarian as an adult.

butane

I learned that Butane is a gas molecule with four carbon atoms and ten hydrogen atoms. C4H10. And molecules combined with only carbon and hydrogen atoms are called alkanes. And an other alkane Propane C3H8. And I learned that these two gases mix under the name of LPG (liquefied petroleum gas). In cold weather conditions it must more propane and otherwise more Butane because the mixtures nature aganist iceing. For further information:

Ps. Is there anyone else there who do not like Jimmy Wales. I do not know why but I somehow take him like a villain in cheap Hollywood movies.

    Chi Ro sign

I also learned that what is this sign means: It is called "Chiro" sign and a combination of first two letters of word "Christ" in Greek. Chi "X" and Ro "P". The rest is in: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Labarum .

Ps. This is not one of the important things to me. It is here first because I learned about it most recently before I started to write in this blog.

    How to start a blog.

It was not todays first, but I learned how to start a blog with blogger today. It is easy. Requires two steps:

First you have to decide, do you or not have something to write down or show and publish through web which millions of people can reach them. I decided that I may have. Because I am a reader of all kinds of staff: Books, Web pages, newspapers, packages, what ever I see, something write on it. I learn things which I can understand and I like to tell them people even if they think I am pedantic. And my memory is not good enough to keep most of them. Briefly; I am learning, I am forgetting, I think every little knowledge is important including those I forget, I like to tell things I know to others. So step one is completed.

Second, Then you sign in with your Gmail account information in to http://www.blogger.com/ pick a pre designed pattern and follow the further instructions.

Thing(s) I learned today even it is not worth to know.

I wrote in title that "even if it is not worth to know." but I actually think that every single thing is worth to know. No matter how them important or not. Those you know is a major part of your being.
